Abstract:
Abstract: Objective To compare the therapeutic effects of magnetic stimulation combined with electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy and electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy alone on female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods A total of 200 patients diagnosed with SUI at Huadu District Peoples Hospital of Guangzhou from January 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025 were selected. The control group (n=100) received electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy, while the experimental group (n=100) received magnetic stimulation combined with electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy. All subjects underwent Glazer pelvic floor surface electromyography assessment. After one course of treatment (10 sessions), the Glazer assessment was conducted again. The improvement values of the scores before and after treatment were calculated. Results Intra-group comparisons revealed that the therapy significantly reduced the mean values of pre-resting phase, variability of slow-twitch muscle phase, variability of endurance phase, mean values of post-resting phase, and abdominal muscle activation of the pelvic floor muscles (PFM) in both control and experimental groups (P<0.05). In contrast, the scores of pre-resting phase, the other indicators of fast-twitch muscle phase, slow-twitch muscle phase and endurance phase, scores of post-resting phase, and total score in both groups were significantly elevated after treatment (P<0.001). Moreover, the experimental group exhibited greater statistical significance in intra-group changes for each indicator. Inter-group comparisons showed that the absolute values of the score differences before and after treatment in the experimental group for all PFM assessment items were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Both the two groups achieve significant improvements in PFM function, and the improvement is more pronounced in the experimental group relative to the control group, suggesting the significant advantages of the combination of pelvic floor magnetic stimulation and electrical stimulation biofeedback therapy in the treatment of SUI.
