Abstract:
Abstract: Patients with Alzheimers disease (AD) suffered from impaired face perception. N170 can be taken as a marker in brain cognitive processing during facial stimulation. Therefore, using event-related potential to evaluate the defects in face recognition and processing in AD patients is a hotspot of current research, and is also one of the difficulties to be solved in clinic. Herein the cognitive processing of face recognition and the characteristics of event-related potential as well as the abnormal N170 characteristics of AD patients are comprehensively described, and the research status of N170 in AD patients is analyzed. It is found that the neural mechanism of face recognition in AD patients still remains unclear. In the future, medical staff should use a more sensitive and unified paradigm to reveal the implicit neuropsychological time process of face recognition, and further explore the evidence for N170 as a biomarker in diagnosing the social dysfunctions of AD patients and monitoring the process of treatment.
