Abstract:
Objective: To explore the abnormal of functional connectivity (FC) of dorsolateral prefrontal lobe in patients with primary insomnia using FC analysis in resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging ( fMRI). Method: Totally 33 primary insomnia patients and 33 age-, gender- and education -matched healthy control subjects underwent resting-state fMRI. The dorsolateral prefrontal lobe were selected as ROIs, and FC analysis with other voxels in the brain to obtain abnormal FC between the two groups. Then relationships between abnormal FC and clinical scale scores were investigated with Pearson’s correlation analysis. Result: Compared with the healthy control group, The FC between the left dorsolateral prefrontal lobe and the left inferior occipital gyrus, the right inferior occipital gyrus, the right middle occipital gyrus, the right temporal lobe, the right medial superior frontal gyrus and the right fusiform gyrus were enhanced, the functional connections with the left anterior cingulate cortex, the right parahippocampal gyrus, the right insula, the right dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus, the right superior parietal gyrus, the right postcentral gyrus and the right precentral gyrus were weakened in primary insomnia (p<0.05, number of voxel≥100, FDR correction). And the FC values of left dorsolateral prefrontal lobe and left inferior occipi tal lobe were positively correlated with SRSS scores(p=0.035). conclusion: FC is abnormal between the dorsolateral prefrontal lobe and multiple brain regions in primary insomnia patients, it may provide some new imaging evidence for understanding the neurological mechanism of primary insomnia .
