Abstract:
Objective To explore the application value of adaptive window width and level algorithm in 3D vascularreconstruction from head and neck CT angiography for achieving consistent reconstruction results at different contrast agentdosages. Methods Both direct vascular reconstruction and reconstruction after applying adaptive window width and levelalgorithm were conducted in 100 cases undergoing head and neck CT angiography; and the reconstruction results werecompared. Results In the cases with excessive or insufficient contrast agent, the overall effect of reconstructions usingadaptive window width and level algorithm was superior to that of direct reconstruction, particularly in displayingintracranial small vessels and plaques. Conclusion The adaptive window width and level algorithm has high applicationpotential in vascular reconstruction from head and neck CT angiography, and demonstrates superior generalization inhighlighting plaques, adapting to different contrast agent dosages, and displaying intracranial small vessels.
