- Abstract: Steady-state somatosensory evoked potential (SSSEP) plays a significant role in improving the classification performance of motor imagery brain-computer interface. Therefore, how to effectively extract SSSEP becomes the research focus. In order to effectively extract the SSSEP at the adjacent joints of the knee ankle of the lower limb, a somatosensory stimulation parameters screening test is designed. The EEG signals at the popliteal fossa of the right leg and the medial side of the right ankle in 10 subjects at 10 different electrical stimulation frequencies are collected and analyzed by fast Fourier transform, time-frequency atlas and brain topographic map. The results show that the spectrum characteristics on the medial side of the right ankle are better than those on the popliteal fossa of the right leg. The optimal stimulation frequency is 33 Hz, and the electrical stimulation intensity that can be used for the lower limbs is from 10 to 20 mA.
