Abstract:
Abstract: Neuromuscular junction (NMJ) which is the effector site of the connection between the axon ends of motor neurons and the corresponding muscle fibers is the basis of action potential generation. Substances such as acetylcholine receptor at NMJ have important significance for action potential conduction. When the motor neurons in the patient with spasm are damaged, the peripheral nerve will continuously dole out impulses to muscles by NMJ, and the muscles will appear durative contraction. The research shows that radial extracorporeal shock wave has certain effect on NMJ, and that it can reduce the generation of action potentials, conducive to the relief of spasm. However, the specific mechanism of shock wave on NMJ remains unclear and needs to be further investigated.
