Abstract:
Though computed tomography (CT) is widely used in anatomical imaging, bone imaging, tumor imaging and so on, CT had a low soft-tissue contrast. However, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has a high soft-tissue contrast, with a long imaging time and expensive cost. Therefore, CT and MRI can be combined to make complementary advantages for obtaining more accurate biological information in a short time. Nowadays, the relevant review on CT/ MRI bimodal contrast agent is few. Herein we summarized several methods to prepare CT/MRI bimodal contrast agent based on some predecessors of CT/MRI bimodal contrast agent, such as nanoemulsion method, surface physical modification method, surface chemical modification method, chloramine-T iodine labeling method, and oxidation reduction method. Finally, the developments of CT/MRI bimodal contrast agent are prospected.
