- Abstract: Ultrasound stimulation is a safe and non-invasive stimulation method. Neurotransmitter-mediated synaptic transmission is crucial to nerve activity. This paper summarizes the experimental researches of ultrasound stimulation, focusing on its mechanism and characteristics on neurotransmitters and its potential application in the treatment of clinical neurological and psychiatric diseases. At the end of paper, some prospects of the basic and clinical research on the regulation of neurotransmitters by ultrasound stimulation is provided.
