- Abstract: Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technology which can be used to detect paramagnetic molecules in samples and to reconstruct radiation dose in a relatively short time has important practical significance for the dose reconstruction, diagnosis and treatment of large-scale radiation accidents and radiation epidemiology research by medical X-ray personnel. The basic principle and application status of EPR are firstly introduced. EPR can be used to directly detect paramagnetic molecules in substances and provide the evaluation results of absorbed doses in a short period of time. The application status and progress of dose reconstruction of EPR in teeth, nails and other biological samples are also reviewed. The above samples have their advantages and disadvantages in dose reconstruction, but the sensitivity and accuracy of dose reconstruction need to be further researched. This review aims to provide new ideas for the research of EPR technology in dose reconstruction of biological samples, thereby laying a foundation for the further promotion and application of EPR technology.
